Spending 85 million pounds, MU successfully recruited Harry Maguire

Manchester United agreed to pay £ 85 million for Leicester City to get the signature of midfielder Harry Maguire. Thus, the English player became the most expensive central defender in the world.

Harry Maguire will become Manchester United’s third contract in the summer of 2019, following Aaron Wan-Bissaka (from Crystal Palace) and Daniel James (Swansea). According to The Sun, United and Leicester City reached an agreement on the Harry Maguire deal on Friday morning (local time). The Red Devils meet the number of requests of the Foxes through some additional utilities in the contract terms.

Currently, MU are very lacking in center-back position after Eric Bailly has sustained a long-term injury, while Smalling and Phil Jones always bring instability. That’s why MU approved to spend such a large amount of money to own Harry Maguire.

Earlier, the England midfielder himself did not hide the desire to move to play at Old Trafford, but Leicester City firmly maintained the price of 85 million pounds. MU has made many suggestions: £ 70 million, £ 75 million and £ 80 million. And before the transfer window counted down, Man Utd had to pay Leicester £ 80 million ($ 97 million) to own the 26-year-old midfielder. Maguire also became the world’s most expensive center-back, surpassing the deal of Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool (£ 75 million / $ 100 million) in December 2017.

Maguire started his career at Sheffield United in 2011. He played 139 matches at the bottom, before joining Hull City in 2014. He helped Hull to get promoted to the Premier League in 2016, but moved to Leicester a year later. The 194cm high defender played 101 matches in the Premier League with Hull and Leicester. He is the mainstay of England, coming to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.

Man Utd noticed Maguire a year ago. Meanwhile, Leicester demanded $ 85 million but were rejected by the “Reds”. Maguire continued to maintain the same form with Leicester last season.
